Terry Mason joins HKA’s Cybersecurity and Privacy group as Director

HKA has announced that Terry Mason has joined as Director within the firm’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Group. Terry has nearly 20 years of experience leading the development and implementation of strategic information security initiatives within complex regulated environments. He has a strong track record for promoting adherence to industry-specific regulations and guidelines for cybersecurity, such as those associated with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), National Futures Association (NFA), New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), and Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).
Prior to joining HKA, Terry was a Vice President in the Cyber Risk practice at Kroll where he led cyber risk management services initiatives for financial services firms such as investment advisers and private equity firms. Prior to Kroll, Terry held long-tenure leadership roles with Elliott Management Corporation, a large multi-strategy activist hedge fund. As Head of Information Risk & Technology Governance he developed and managed the firm’s Cybersecurity and Technology Governance program, with a focus on reducing risk in areas such as Third Party Risk Management, Data Protection, Mobile Threat Defense, and Security Awareness. Terry developed and oversaw the firm’s Cyber Risk Committee to assist senior management in making informed decisions about cyber risk matters impacting the firm.
Terry’s specialization in CISO advisory services, cybersecurity due diligence reviews and security awareness will be a tremendous addition to our cybersecurity and privacy practice.
