HKA is deeply saddened to lose our dear and respected colleague, David Saunders
10th May 2022
Our HKA family is deeply saddened to lose our dear and respected colleague, David Saunders.
David left this life peacefully after a short illness, with his loving family at his bedside. David’s wife, Liz and their children, Jamie and Becky are sent our condolences and we wish them strength and courage during this heartbreakingly difficult time.
David was an exceptionally talented Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. His career spanned many industries and jurisdictions, from the UK courts to international arbitrations. David’s expertise was recognised not only by his peers and clients but also by the independent research firm Who’s Who Legal, which recognised David as a Thought Leader in Arbitration and a Global Leader in Quantum of Damages, Forensic Accounting, and Investigations.
David began his career with a degree in Engineering Production and Production Management, before adding accountancy qualifications to his skills. He worked for several firms between 1996 to 2004 whilst gaining his chartership. David then became a Director at BDO Stoy Haywood in 2004, before moving to Navigant as a Managing Director in 2006. David then became a Managing Director at Berkeley Research Group in 2013, before making his final professional move to join us at HKA as a Partner in 2020.
We are truly saddened that David was with us for only two short years at HKA before his passing, and even though his time was regrettably too short with us, he has left a lasting impact on the many colleagues who worked with him, and he will be deeply missed.
Rest In Peace, David. 1967 – 2022.
