Contracting and Grant Compliance

Brief

A large Not For Profit organization planned on expanding its footprint in the Government grant and contracting spaces.  To ready itself for this expansion and help ensure future compliance with applicable rules and regulations, the Not For Profit organization requested assistance in implementing several Federal business systems.

What we did

HKA experts were retained by the Not For Profit organization to assist in the implementation of compliant accounting, timekeeping, billing, estimating, and purchasing systems.

Our experts:

• Identified functional areas which would be implicated by the Not For Profit organization’s expanded footprint in the Government grant and contracting spaces.
• Analyzed current business practices to determine compliance with Federal grant and contracting requirements.
• Created new business practices and updated existing business practices (where necessary) to ensure compliance with Federal grant and contracting requirements.
• Document updated business practices within policies and procedures.
• Trained the Not For Profit organization’s personnel on updated business practices, as well as Federal grant and contracting rules and regulations.

Outcomes

The Not For Profit organization successfully implemented compliant accounting, timekeeping, billing, estimating, and purchasing systems.  Shortly after implementation of these business systems, the Not For Profit organization was awarded two large Federal grants.
