Congratulations to Iryna Akulenka who was elected as Chair of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Iryna has been an active member of the UAE branch contributing to the branch committee for four years, holding various positions including that of Vice Chair over the last two years.
High on the agenda for the CIArb UAE branch this year will be continuous engagement with the branch members despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.
Further, and in line with the global CIArb Strategy 2021-2023, Iryna says “we will continue to foster greater engagement across the ADR community and local business community at large”. This will include promoting dispute avoidance and resolution, innovation and collaboration, thought leadership, as well as principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
“I am honoured and humbled to take the reigns from the immediate past Chair of the UAE branch, and to continue the momentum. I have to say I am very fortunate to be working alongside my fellow committee members, such an inspiring group of professionals, and I am extremely proud to be part of this.”
