Sydney, Australia was the host city for HKA’s inaugural launch event following the completion of our sale and de-merger from Hill International, Inc. More than 170 guests gathered at The Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf to celebrate the launch of the new HKA brand and to recognise the achievements of the company’s operations in Australia since its establishment in 1999.

HKA Senior Vice President Dafydd Wyn Owen welcomed guests and introduced Chief Executive Renny Borhan who provided insights into the new HKA brand, mission and purpose as well as our ambitious growth plans for the region.

“I am proud to say that we are playing a key role in delivering some of Sydney’s most iconic projects,” said Renny. “These include the Operations, Trains and Systems PPP contract for Sydney Metro, Australia’s first fully automated rapid transit network; and the Easing Sydney’s Congestion Program, an integral part of delivering the single largest series of transport infrastructure developments in the history of New South Wales.

“We are also providing strategic advice to clients such as Sydney Water, Infrastructure NSW and the NSW Aboriginal Land Council and pushing boundaries on projects like the Legacy Program for Sydney Metro and the Lower South Creek Wastewater Treatment Program for Sydney Water. These are exciting and challenging times for our industry that provide unparalleled opportunities.”

Special guest speaker, Sean Duggan from Ultraspeed Australia, entertained guests with an introduction to Hyperloop, an exciting new technology currently in development that will revolutionise the way we travel. HKA is currently providing advisory services for Hyperloop, one of many exciting projects we are working on in Australia.

“The event was a roaring success,” said Astrid Cameron, HKA’s regional marketing manager. “The fantastic venue, together with the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, really helped to set the mood.”

Located within the Sydney Theatre Company’s home at the historic Walsh Bay on Pier 4, The Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf overlooks one of Australia’s most iconic views.
