HKA, one of the world’s leading privately owned, independent providers of consulting, expert and advisory services for the construction, manufacturing, process and technology industries, today announced the launch of its Independent Facilitation service offering to help clients establish and resolve contractual difficulties that have arisen, due to unprecedented circumstances brought about by COVID-19.
The firm is seeing an increasing demand from employers and contractors across the construction and engineering industry wanting to avoid the cost of lengthy disputes due to the impact of the pandemic. The new service will see HKA’s consultants combine expertise in Commercial Management with their capacity as adept independent facilitators. By doing so, they will act as a neutral party, to help resolve complex contractual issues cost effectively and within a shorter timescale between various parties within the supply chain.
The new service has already been applied with success for clients in the construction industry in the UK and overseas. As well as this demand giving rise to HKA offering this service, its adoption echoes comments made in March 2020, by Lord Burnett, the Lord Chief Justice who encouraged parties to “explore…the possibility for compromise”, pointing out that the COVID-19 lockdown means that the benefits of settling, over litigating, are greater than ever.
