HKA forms a JV with CIArb in South Africa to deliver internationally accredited courses in ADR
8th October 2019
HKA is delighted to be part of an exciting, new
collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the world’s
leading qualifications and professional body for dispute avoidance and dispute
management, to deliver internationally recognsied alternative dispute
resolution (ADR) courses in South Africa.
CIArb’s world-renowned training in ADR fits squarely with HKA’s
position as the foremost construction contract and dispute training provider in
South Africa. The purpose of this new
working relationship is to offer internationally recognised qualifications in South
Africa with HKA acting as a CIArb training provider working closely with the
CIArb branch.
June Conolly, Training Manager for Africa, will
lead this initiative with the CIArb. Her collaboration with the CIArb goes back
to her previous position with the Association of Arbitrators when she worked
with CIArb on its Recognised Course Provider (RCP) scheme.
June is delighted to continue the excellent working relationships she has forged in the ADR space and launched the HKA CIArb JV with an afternoon workshop on 2 October: ‘The Changing Face of Arbitration in Southern Africa – An International Perspective’at Summer Place in Johannesburg.
With the opening of the economy and international
companies and law firms having a presence in South Africa, it is the right time
to develop recognised training courses in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
June Conolly, Training Manager, HKA, said: “We will work to ensure and build on the growth of the CIArb branch in South Africa and offer world class training in collaboration with CIArb London.”
Dr Paresh Kathrani, Director of Education and Training at CIArb based in London: “We are very happy to be working with HKA in promoting alternative dispute resolution training. CIArb offers many courses, covering fields such as arbitration and adjudication, with several leading to CIArb membership.
