Glasgow bears witness to Expert Team HQ
31st August 2017
HKA is delighted to open our new Expert Team HQ office in Glasgow, Scotland. The 220 St Vincent Street office is in the heart of the UK’s fourth largest city.
The new Expert Team HQ office is located in a Category B listed building, which beared witness to the genius of the acclaimed architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, one of Scotland’s most influential creative figures. It was redesigned and converted to office space by Honeyman & Keppie Architects in 1892, the firm where Mackintosh gained his experience and rose to the position of partner. The block design is regarded as part of the Greek revival, which the architectural firm specialised in.
“The 465 square metres (5,000 square feet) of office space is more than double the size of our previous location. It was designed with the needs and comfort of our staff and clients at its core,” added David. “The external balcony is a truly visionary blue-sky thinking space. It will facilitate creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in a way that is unique within the heart of the city.”
Four new meeting rooms within the office are each uniquely branded with the names of influential engineers, the most significant of which is Alfred “Hank” Hancox who, in 1971, founded the engineering consultancy that was later to become HKA. The other rooms are named after Thomas Telford, James Watt and Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
