Ross Priday is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years of experience. He has been appointed as an aviation expert on 25 occasions.
Ross is a fully qualified and experienced expert witness undertaking technical and engineering analysis and investigation of aviation related incidents and accidents, and maintenance error management. He provides expert testimony to the courts and the coroner and has been cross-examined in arbitration.
Ross served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) for 26 years as a principal engineer, executive officer, and the chief engineer for the RAF Aerobatic Team (The Red Arrows). He is experienced in strategic safety leadership and safety management; project management including developing, delivering and leading multiple, complex, high-value and high-profile programmes, worldwide; and is a qualified classroom instructor for aviation, safety and human performance subjects.
Ross specialises in understanding ‘the human in the system’, with a deep knowledge of just culture theory and application, systems of support, and organisational competence. His expertise includes legal accountabilities, regulatory compliance, and effective system controls.
Ross is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He is widely qualified across various aeronautical and engineering disciplines along with specialist training ranging from airworthiness and post-crash management to Bond Solon training in civil law, written evidence, and court room skills. He is also a fully qualified professional workplace mediator. Ross has been published on numerous occasions regarding matters of just culture, compliance management, and human factors and he speaks regularly at aviation safety conferences and events around the world.
