Peyman Tabatabaei is a professional engineer with 20 years of experience. He has been appointed as an engineering expert or assisted the named expert on numerous occasions.
Peyman has provided geotechnical expert opinions on a variety of building and civil engineering projects. He has dealt with different types of geotechnical disputes, including standard of care and adequacy of investigations, dewatering, deflection of retaining walls, flow estimation, excessive settlements, and failure of shoring walls with project values of up to $60 million.
Peyman’s project experience covers seismic retrofit, proposed developments, landside stabilization, environmental waste management, pipelines, entertainment facilities, water storage facilities, and a water supply and sanitation project partially funded by World Bank. He is well-versed in geotechnical analysis and design software such as gINT, GEO5, PLAXIS 2D and 3D, GeoStudio, Slide2, L-Pile, All Pile, Shoring Suite, Group, Settle3, FLAC, Abacus, and SAFE.
Peyman’s expertise is in civil and geotechnical investigation which includes front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, construction, and consulting engineering. He supports clients in the analysis of retaining and shoring walls for deflections, settlement analysis of foundations, failure analysis of dams, road structure failure root cause analysis, and geotechnical related failures of pipelines.
Peyman holds a master’s in soil mechanics and foundation (geotechnical) engineering, and is a professional engineer in California, Iowa, Alberta and British Columbia. He is a member of the Calgary Geotechnical Society and is bi-lingual in Farsi and English.
