Haitham Khaireldin is a civil engineer with nearly 20 years of experience. He has been appointed as a delay and quantum expert on numerous occasions.
Haitham has acted as a party‐appointed expert in arbitration and as an expert in litigation. He has given written and oral evidence to the arbitral tribunal and been cross‐examined by counsel. He has also been appointed more than 200 times by the court as an expert, providing independent review and determination as part of legal proceedings for various types of disputes, including civil engineering, building and real estate.
Haitham has extensive experience in planning, project controls and delay analysis and has worked as an expert on projects in the oil and gas, power and utilities, infrastructure, and buildings sectors with disputed values of up to $30 million. He is familiar with numerous standard forms of contract and is adept with all forms of planning software.
Haitham specialises in valuations for extension of time entitlement and enforceability of liquidated damages. He has expertise in giga projects having led the preparation of detailed delay analysis and advisory services on the third expansion of the Holy Mosque project and the King Salman Park in Saudi Arabia.
Haitham holds a master’s degree in both quantity surveying and construction law and arbitration, and a legal experience training advanced professional award in expert witness evidence. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, practising member of the Academy of Experts, and a member of the Society of Construction Law and of the Guild of Project Controls.
