Francisco Matta is an architect with almost 30 years of experience. He has been appointed as the lead expert on 21 occasions.
Francisco has served as an expert witness for construction disputes in state and federal courts, arbitration panels, and mediation forums in the United States and Latin America in English and Spanish. He has testified on matters on projects valued up to US$39.5 million.
Francisco has extensive experience as an architect directing all aspects of the design and construction and administration process for a multitude of projects throughout the northeastern United States and the Caribbean. His design experience includes institutional buildings courthouses, educational facilities, commercial establishments, warehouses, residential developments and individual homes.
Francisco specializes in standard of care, construction defects, and schedule and delay analysis for large-scale construction projects. He also has experience in disputes related to wrongful termination change order impacts, errors and omissions, Americans with Disabilities Act, code compliance and adherence to contract terms and conditions.
Francisco is a Registered Architect in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico and Texas, a Certified General Contractor in Florida, and holds a master’s in architecture and a Juris Doctor. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARB). He has lectured in areas such as government contracting, differing site conditions, and the challenges of coastal design and construction.
