David Hardiman is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 40 years of construction industry experience. He has acted as a quantum expert on more than 25 occasions.
David has given written and oral evidence to tribunals and courts in Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia and Australasia. He has been cross-examined in international and domestic arbitration proceedings in Paris, Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore and in the Supreme Courts of Queensland, New South Wales and Norfolk Island. He has also assisted with providing positive outcomes from mediations.
David has led large claims management teams, successfully blending and managing different technical disciplines to deliver effective client solutions. He has experience of a broad range of commercial functions in relation to some of the world’s largest projects from both the client and contractor perspective.
David specialises in, and has given evidence on, termination valuation, audit final account, re-measurement interpretation, the valuation of variations, and loss and expense claims. His sector expertise includes ports, mining and metals, oil and gas, infrastructure, airports, pipelines, power, industrial, buildings and telecommunications.
David is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the Society of Construction Law and the Disputes Resolution Board Foundation. He is also a member of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and the Perth Centre for Energy and Resources Arbitration.
