Chris Williams is an economist with over 30 years of experience. He has been appointed as an expert on more than 75 occasions.
Chris has provided expert evidence and testimony on more than 30 occasions to international arbitration tribunals (investor state and commercial) as well as high courts, competition courts, and judicial and parliamentary review proceedings across multiple jurisdictions. He has been engaged in major disputed matters, with projects where the disputed value is in excess of $10 billion.
Prior to joining HKA, Chris has spent 20 years as a partner leading the economics function at leading financial consultancy firms within both the UK and globally. As part of these roles he had management responsibility for major industry sector teams globally and across Europe, including technology, media and telecoms (TMT) and financial services, as well as leading the creation and operation of a major analytics practice.
Chris specialises in the use of economic theory and analysis to provide expert testimony across a range of competition, valuation, and market analysis related projects. He is known for taking a quantitative evidence led approach. Chris also has extensive commercial experience and has led cross functional teams on assignments with fees ranging up to $50 million, and providing more than 100 commercial valuations.
Chris holds a doctorate in economics and before consulting lectured at the University of Warwick.
