Chris has testified in domestic and international arbitrations in the UK (ICC-ICA), Australia (ACICA and Resolution Institute), Singapore (SIAC), Malaysia (AIAC), Indonesia (IBA), and Thailand (TAI). He has also acted as the named expert in supreme court proceedings in Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria and has prepared numerous expert reports on disputed projects with disputed amounts of up to $500 million. He has also undertaken multiple engagements in mediation, adjudication, and expert determination.
Chris has a background working for major contractors on large engineering and infrastructure projects. He has a successful track record as a project manager and is skilled in contractual compliance.
Chris specialises in matters of delay, including delay analysis methodology, extent and causes of delay, identification of critical path, identification of concurrent delay, and acceleration. As well as delay, he also provides quantum expert opinion on matters relating to delay and disruption. His expert experience ranges from power plants (thermal and renewables), mining and resource infrastructure, industrial and process plants, and oil and gas projects to transport infrastructure, utilities, public buildings, and high-rise mixed-use developments.
Chris holds a degree in civil engineering and a postgraduate diploma in law. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
