Alan Currie is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years of industry experience. He has been appointed as a technical expert and assisted the named expert on numerous occasions.
Alan has supported clients with disputes in the power and utilities and buildings sectors for projects with values of up to $800 million. He manages and oversees the work of many technical experts covering a wide range of engineering disciplines working predominantly, but not exclusively, on international arbitrations.
Alan has a background in a multi-discipline engineering consultancy and in utility OEM and EPC contracting, working both in the design office and on site. He led a team of 25 engineers through a successful technology transfer process to acquire and implement carbon capture capability. He has also undertaken and managed feasibility and FEED studies for utility clients across Europe and North America.
Alan specialises in providing mentoring, management and direction of expert appointments. His expertise in a wide range of power generation, industrial and manufacturing processes, and building services systems provides a strong basis for guiding appointed experts.
Alan is a member of the Energy Institute and an associate member of the Association for Project Management. He holds a degree in environmental engineering, an advanced professional award in expert witness evidence, and has been published on matters of renewable and sustainable energy generation.
