Introduction
In the highly complex industries of shipbuilding and offshore oil and gas construction, it is sometimes the case that the path to completion is not always a smooth one. When disputes arise they are often large in scale and may involve complex legal, factual, technical and financial issues. The question is how best to manage the dispute resolution process in a way that minimises the time and cost involved in bringing matters to a successful conclusion?
In this event Lucy Garrett QC of Keating Chambers will be speaking on multi-tier dispute resolution clauses in contracts and conditions precedent to issuing a notice of arbitration.
Bob Breeze and Trevor Butler will discuss what proportionate steps can be adopted to identify and help resolve the many technical and commercial issues when there are often thousands of changes to a project or defects which may have arisen during and after construction is completed.
