John Sciaccotta of Aronberg Goldgehn will moderate the panel. In this webcast, the co-authors provide a summary review of the newly published ABA Business Law Section’s Recent Developments in Business and Corporate Litigation 2024.
The panel will discuss the highlights of selected complex shareholder and ownership dispute litigation court case decisions from various jurisdictions across the United States, plus selected cases on that topic involving business valuation and economic damages. This webcast is hosted by the Business Divorce and Complex Ownership Disputes Committee of The Chicago Bar Association.
John Levitske, Partner
John Levitske provides business valuation, forensic accounting, and commercial damages expert services as a member of HKA’s Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages group. With more than 35 years of experience, John has served as a senior advisor to companies, legal counsel, executives, and investors regarding business valuation, financial, accounting, and damages issues in complex commercial matters such as shareholder disputes, bankruptcy disputes, M&A transaction disputes, corporate alter ego disputes, and other business disputes. He has provided expert advice when disagreements or uncertainties arose regarding quantifications of value, price, or economic damages of a business or stakeholder interest in a business. John works across all industries and is experienced with both private and public companies.
John has worked with Big Four public accounting, global valuation and corporate financial advisory, and international business advisory and expert consulting firms for more than 25 years. He founded a business valuation dispute analysis practice, co-founded an acquisition agreement vetting practice, and was a post-acquisition dispute practice leader. John’s expert witness work has included jury and bench trials, mediations, and arbitrations (e.g., ICC, LCIA, SCC, UNCITRAL, AAA, JAMS, FINRA, and ad hoc) in the United States and internationally. He has also served as a neutral arbitrator and as an independent advisor to the mediator.
