Changes and the resulting change orders and construction directives are common sources of delays and disruptions during a construction project and require understanding and management by the project team. Now that many construction projects are remobilizing and are under new health and safety protocol, navigating changes is more important than ever. The panel includes a construction manager/claims consultant, construction attorney, and owners rep/project manager who will discuss protocol and best practices under an ever changing job site environment.
Speakers:
Rocco Vespe, Principal, HKA: Rocco is a civil engineer with more than 40 years of construction industry experience and has been appointed as an expert on 25 occasions in delay, quantum and technical matters. Rocco is also a CMAA Fellow.
Mark Bloom, Partner, Arent Fox: Mark co-lead’s Arent Fox’s national construction practice, representing clients in transactional matters and in litigation, arbitration and mediation on a wide range of projects, including commercial, institutional, health care, transportation, infrastructure, power and government projects.
William N. Bernstein, President of Empire Projects, Inc.: Empire is a project management firm based on Manhattan NY. Bill is a Yale-trained, registered architect, who has over 35 years of experience in both the design and construction of commercial, residential, institutional, and healthcare projects.
John Paolin, Principal, HKA (Moderator): John heads up marketing for HKA Americas. He is an MBA with more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry and has organized or moderated hundreds of construction related thought leadership programs.
