Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Focus24 

HKA’s Mike Griffin, Jeff DuVal, Peter Vosbikian, and John Paolin look forward to being in Philadelphia for CMMA Focus24 from March 10–12. This year’s in-person and interactive experience is designed to provide attendees with valuable learning experiences relevant to the evolving industry, unique to the profession, and optimal for project and program outcomes.  

On March 10, Jeff and Peter, as well as Doris Short of Peckar & Abramson, P.C., are presenting “How to Navigate Public Contracts and Avoid False Claims Funding” at 1:30 PM ET. Their discussion will focus on the large risks those who are unfamiliar with public contracts face when seeking funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Hear cautionary tales, lessons learned, and best practices to avoid false claims on your next federal infrastructure program. 

CMAA Focus24 will provide attendees with valuable insights to leverage leadership skills; technological innovations; and digital tools, trends, and resiliency best practices that pave the way for innovative and successful project/program execution. The goal of the conference is to provide project and construction managers with the knowledge and skills they need to assume greater responsibility. 

For 2024, CMAA has identified a learning matrix with strategic learning outcomes that increase the capacity of project and construction management professionals to address challenges and opportunities in today’s program and project delivery environment. This year’s education sessions will address ways of improving the leadership performance of project and construction managers and their ability to overcome the obstacles and challenges they encounter in their professional lives.

Jeff DuVal, Partner 

Jeff DuVal is a certified fraud examiner with more than 25 years of experience. He is a U.S. government contract expert focused on the calculation of damages, investigations, and compliance with U.S. federal regulations. 

Peter Vosbikian, Principal 

Peter Vosbikian is a claims expert with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. In addition to testifying in arbitration and litigation proceedings, Peter has been appointed as an expert witness on matters involving schedule delay and disruption, productivity loss, damages, and standard of care. His areas of expertise include contract dispute resolution, construction claims and litigation support, construction advisory and claims avoidance services, and critical path method (CPM) scheduling.
