The following recording is a 10-minute podcast on topic of COVID-19 Impact on Public Project Job Sites, a joint production between HKA and Seyfarth Shaw. The program will address the impact that we are currently seeing on construction job sites and how those impacts are being addressed.

Jeff DuVal, Partner and Co-Leader, Government Contracts Group
Jeff is a forensic accounting and quantum expert with over 21 years of consulting experience. Jeff is responsible for directing engagements in the field of business and litigation consulting, primarily for government and construction contractors. These engagements focus on cost and damage analyses, investigations, project management, and dispute and compliance related issues dealing with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Jeff’s experience includes the analysis of damages and costs incurred on over 300 different government contracts, technology, construction, transportation, manufacturing, investigations, and lost profit engagements. He has assisted clients by presenting findings and conclusions in negotiations, alternative dispute resolution proceedings, deposition and trial.
Jim Newland, Partner, Seyfarth Shaw
Jim is an attorney and licensed architect who represents owners and general contractors in contentious and non-contentions construction matters involving government and private construction projects. The 2016 Chambers USA guide describes him as “very well versed in construction law and construction related issues.” Jim works closely with other practice groups serving the construction practice needs of Seyfarth’s real estate, transportation, healthcare, franchise, employment, and corporate practices.
About one-third of Jim’s practice involves drafting and negotiating construction contracts and procurement documents such as RFPs for design, construction, EPC, or design-build services, providing advice during the design phase and during the contractor’s preconstruction services, and providing analysis and advice on the preparation, prosecution, and defense of claims during the construction phase.
