Corporate social responsibility update

We look back at the amazing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives HKA employees have taken part in throughout the recent months. We are extremely grateful for all of the hard work that colleagues have put into our CSR programmes and we hope to continue this success and place more emphasis in the coming months.
Food Angels Volunteers
HKA colleagues in Hong Kong volunteered to prepare hot meal boxes and raw vegetables for the needy at Food Angels by Bo Charity Foundation in Hong Kong.
“Food Angels is a good rescue and food assistance program launched in 2011 by Bo Charity Foundation with the mission of ‘Waste Not, Hunger Not, With Love’.

The Lighthouse Club Event Sponsorship and March
HKA sponsored the Lighthouse Club Midlands Renaissance on 7 February
and colleagues in Kuala Lumpur also attended the Lighthouse Club March Get Together to help raise money for this amazing charity that provides emotional and practical support to the construction community and their families.

Rumah Ozanam
HKA colleagues in Malaysia visited Rumah Ozanam, a home for underprivileged children in Malaysia. Founded in the mid-1980s, it was the first of many that Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) set up with the aim of bringing children out of the poverty cycle by providing them conducive learning and living environments.

Great Legal Bake
HKA supported the Great Legal Bake again this year to raise money for the London Legal Support Trust. The LLST is an independent charity that raises funds for free legal services in London and the South East.
HKA colleagues in the London office supported by baking a fine selection of cakes to raise funds for the charity.

International Women’s Day
We took time to recognise and reflect on all the fantastic work women contribute to our careers and personal lives as we work towards a #BalanceforBetter.

Primary Engineer
HKA is partnering with Primary Engineer, a non-profit organisation that brings together teachers and engineers to engage primary and secondary pupils with engineering through projects mapped to the curriculum.
Director Michael Halliday attended the first training session and worked alongside teachers to develop the basis of a project aimed at primary school children.

Willing Hearts
HKA colleagues and their families in Singapore visited Willing Hearts, a volunteer-based organisation which aims to improve the lives of underprivileged members of society by providing daily meals and other support services.
The team helped to prepare and deliver meals to show this support for the organisation and to those who are in need.
