HKA is named Construction Expert Witness Firm of the Year at Who’s Who Legal Awards 2018
11th May 2018
HKA, the world’s leading expert witness practice in the engineering and construction industries, wins its first industry award at the 5th Annual Who’s Who Legal Awards – Construction Expert Witness Firm of the Year.
The event took place at Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London, UK on Tuesday, 8 May 2018 where over 250 guests, including some of the very best lawyers and experts from around the world, gathered to celebrate individual and company awards.
Partner & CEO, Renny Borhan picked up the award on behalf of HKA.
Renny Borhan said, “I am delighted and honoured to collect this Construction Expert Witness Firm of the Year award on behalf of our employees. In the last two months, we have topped the list of WWL Construction 2018: Expert Witness Analysis and ranked number one in the Global Arbitration Review (GAR) Top 100 11th Edition Expert Witnesses for the number of construction arbitrations a firm has undertaken.
“We have worked hard to promote our new brand to the industry and I am immensely proud of our achievements to date. We look to the future with excitement and optimism as we aim to become the pre-eminent, globally connected brand in our space.”
Also recognised on the night was Dubai-based David Merritt, HKA Partner and Head of Middle East & Asia, who picked up an award as a recognised Thought Leader in Construction Expert Witness. The individuals highlighted as Thought Leaders comprise the top two per cent of all lawyers and experts considered for inclusion by WWL.
According to WWL’s research, “David enjoys a strong reputation in the international market for his deep knowledge of the construction industry as well as the arbitration process. “He is a clear thinker and is outstanding at brokering consensus with his opposing expert.
“Our Thought Leaders are worthy of special mention owing not only to their expertise and experience advising on some of the world’s most significant and cutting-edge legal matters, but also their ability to innovate, inspire, and go above and beyond to deliver for their clients,” said Rupert Wilson, WWL Editor.
Renny Borhan, Frank Giunta, David Merritt, Mark Lench, David McIntyre, Toby Hunt, Russell Bates, Derek Nelson, Geoff Bewsey and Tim Haynes represented HKA at the event.
All profits from the WWL Awards event will be donated to Swawou Girls’ School in Kenema, eastern Sierra Leone, which provides free primary education to more than 40 disadvantaged girls in the local community who would not otherwise receive an education. The Swawou School Foundation is promoted by Callum Campbell, founder of Law Business Research.
