HKA, the global leading consultancy for multi-disciplinary expert and specialist services in risk mitigation and dispute resolution within the capital projects and infrastructure sector, today announced that Roula Harfouche has joined the firm as Partner, based in London.
With this hire, the firm continues to expand its forensic accounting and commercial damages (FACD) practice worldwide, which now includes over 50 FACD Experts and Consultants.
Roula will join globally recognised WWL thought leaders and subject-matter experts, Colin Johnson and David Saunders in HKA’s London office, and will play a critical role in the further development and growth of the firm’s FACD service offering across a wide variety of industries, jurisdictions and forums.

Recognised as a WWL global elite thought leader in Arbitration Expert Witnesses 2021 and Quantum of Damages 2021, Roula is acknowledged by her peers and clients as ‘excellent, smart, professional, very thorough in her work and very business oriented at the same time’, ‘has extensive experience in conducting valuations and acting as an expert witness’ and ‘has a great reputation in the market’.
Roula specialises in contentious valuations and the assessment of quantum issues in high-value international arbitration and litigation cases. She has a broad range of experience in the analysis of complex damages in matters involving breaches of contract, investment treaty claims, transaction-related disputes and intellectual property infringements.
Roula has been actively involved in over 50 contentious cases, and has worked on matters in LCIA, ICC, SCC, HKIAC, PCA, Cairo Regional Center For International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), SCIA, and ICSID arbitration forums and under the UNCITRAL rules, before the UK High Court, the UK Family Division, and Patents Court, the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), as well as in mediation. She has been appointed as an expert on numerous occasions across various industries including telecoms, retail and distribution, pharmaceutical and healthcare, chemicals, industrial and manufacturing, energy, utilities and oil & gas, mining, property, construction, media, transport, and financial services.
Roula has testified in English and in French and has also acted as an independent expert appointed under a shareholders’ agreement or joint venture agreement to determine the value of shares or joint venture interests.

Roula is a member of the Society of Share and Business Valuers and of the Valuation and Forensic Special Interest Groups of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). She holds a graduate diploma in business studies from the London School of Economics (LSE) and from French business school (EDHEC), and an MSc in Management (distinction) from the LSE. Roula speaks English, French, and Arabic.
Prior to joining HKA, Roula was a Partner at Accuracy and before that she worked at FTI Consulting and Ernst & Young. Roula was also formerly a member of the forensic accounting group at Clifford Chance, an equity analyst at Morgan Stanley, and a member of the economic and financial consulting division of Arthur Andersen.
