HKA, a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness and litigation support services, announces the appointment of Alex Cruttwell who joins the Advisory team as Principal, based in the London office. 

Alex is a programme manager and engineer by background and an experienced strategic planner with 25 years of experience in analysing strategic risks and challenges. He supports clients in resolving complex problems on major projects and advises how they can transform the way they manage risk and reduce the uncertainty of outcomes.  

His experience covers engagements across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear-powered submarine development, strategic water resource planning, high-speed rail, nuclear decommissioning, and railway system safety. 

Alex said, “I am delighted to be joining HKA and looking forward to working with colleagues and clients in order to make a difference on vital capital projects around the globe.” 

Prior to joining HKA, Alex worked for The Nichols Group as a Director in the Technology Practice. He has also worked for a global defence and security technology company and was responsible for delivery and business development in new and complex markets, such as border security systems, and for projects that required working in partnership across the defence sector. He also previously held posts in a strategic consulting practice and for the UK Government as a Defence and Security Policy Advisor.
