About Ben Rosengren

Ben is the father of three beautiful children, a keen football (soccer) player, an enthusiast of camping and all things outdoors, and a self-confessed board game fanatic.

Ben joined HKA in May 2017 after returning home from the United Kingdom to Australia. During his time in the UK, he worked on the High Speed Two (HS2) Rail Project, honing his experience in project controls and program development. Since joining HKA, Ben has continued to build on his mega-project experience, working for seven years on Sydney Metro in the PMO team, culminating in him leading the risk management function across City and Southwest. He is now in his home town of Brisbane as a Director, leading local engagements and supporting strategic growth in the region for HKA.

Ben is an active HKA ‘Spark’ team member, which serves as an innovation engine for HKA’s growth in capability, processes and systems, both externally with clients and internally for HKA. He is also a member of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) committee, supporting initiatives that drive awareness and improve the culture within our company.

Ben has experience working for both public and private sector organisations, providing a range of consultancy services and working on some of the world’s largest capital mega projects, programs, and portfolios. Ben excels when working as part of a knowledgeable and creative team where there is an opportunity to develop and think outside the box. His experience has taught him to be highly adaptable, working with multidisciplinary teams of clients and consultants across a broad range of public and private sector contracts. His time internationally and in Australia has instilled the value of working closely with the client and stakeholders to establish a clear brief and achieve a joint vision for success.

What do you love about what you do?

I am happiest when sharing my experience and knowledge with our emerging leaders, and I get to do this regularly with the HKA graduates in our Spark team and the young professionals on the projects I am part of. Being a father now, I love watching my children grow and learn, and I can’t wait to pass on some of these experiences to them one day.

I am passionate about risk management as it has roots in everything we do on projects, whether it’s the complexity of project interfaces and stakeholder engagement, quantitative risk analysis to support delivering to cost and time, or commercial strategy and negotiations for risk allocation. In Australia, HKA specialises in front-end project lifecycle advisory across Integrated Project Services (IPS), Strategic Commercial Advisory, and Delivery Project Management. My goal is to ensure we fully utilise HKA’s experience as the world’s leading claims and dispute resolution specialist to effectively manage and benchmark risk in the advisory work we deliver here in Australia.
